THE SPRED BUILDING
This is the SPRED building.
PREPARATION ROOM
This room, with gentle music, soft lighting, and variety of beautiful activities to choose from, is where the SPRED session begins. It is into this room that all are welcomed on arrival.
ACTIVITIES
A wide range of art and craft, & sensory materials is presented in a way that is pleasing on the eye and ready for people to choose and work with. The activities are for everyone...our friends with disabilities and the volunteer helpers and so have to be age appropriate, clean and within easy reach.
ART CORNER
There is a whole variety of art and craft materials......paints, crayons. pencils, charcoals as well as earthen clay, tissue papers and pasting materials to choose from here.
EASEL
As well as small table easels there is a large easel where two people can be engaged at the same time. Aprons, paints, brushes and paper are fresh and clean for every group.
HAND WASHING
Using a jug and basin with warm water at hand, prevents the noise of running taps and also helps the experience to be much slower and more enjoyable.
CELEBRATION ROOM
After working with the activities in the preparation room for about 45 minutes, the group moves to more sacred space, the celebration room. Here, as in the preparation room, the lighting is very soft and there are no distracting images.
